HHO Gas Generator Install

Probably the easiest part of the whole process is the HHO Gas Generator Install. All that you have to actually hook up is power and ground to the conductors and a vacuum line to pull the HHO gas into the intake.

For the vacuum line you can just tee into an existing line or if you already have a vacuum port that is blanked out on the intake manifold then you can just use it. Some people do like to put some kind of flame arrestor in the vacuum line to prevent a flash back in case of back fire.

There are flame arrestors that you can buy and put in the line to protect from this or a lot of people just get some brass wool and stuff some of it into the line instead of spending the money. I have also been told that if your vacuum line is long enough, about four foot or so, that you will not need a flame arrestor. I could not swear if that is true or not but I have been using a long line without a flame arrestor and so far have not had any problems.

As far as hooking up the power then you are going to have to find a wire that is at least somewhat easy to get to and is only hot when the ignition is on. After you find the power wire then tha is all that you really need to splice into but you will need to make sure that the circuit is capable of carrying the extra load that you will put on it.

Personally I prefer to find the hot wire and just use it to power a relay. Then I run a power wire straight from the generator to the battery so that all the original circuit has to power is just the relay, which is almost nothing.

Just make sure that you get a large enough relay to handle the load and that you use a fusible link as well. The fuse should always have a lower rating than the relay does. A lot of auto parts stores have 30A relays in stock so I usually get one of those and a 20A fuse.
